Coverage We Help You Choose

Our core work is individual health insurance, family health insurance and ACA Marketplace plans. Alongside a medical plan, we also place dental insurance, vision insurance and accident insurance for clients who want them. Because we are independent, we can set plans from different carriers next to each other and explain plainly where each one is strong and where it falls short.

  • Individual Health Insurance

Coverage for one person, compared across carriers by total yearly cost, your doctors and your medications, with a check-in after your plan starts.

  • Family Health Insurance

One plan that fits every person on it, with each doctor and regular medication checked first and a check-in from us once the cards arrive.

  • ACA Marketplace Plans

Compare Marketplace plans, estimate your tax credit and enroll with an advisor who checks back through renewals and tax season.

  • Dental Insurance

Compare dental plans from several carriers, confirm your dentist is in network, and get a follow-up call once your coverage starts.

  • Vision Insurance

Stand-alone vision plans for exams, frames, lenses and contacts, compared across carriers and explained so you know how to use every benefit.

  • Accident Insurance

Supplemental accident coverage that pays you a set cash amount following a covered injury, so a fall or fracture does not drain your savings before your deductible is met.

What Drives the Price of a Plan

Two clients living next door to each other can pay very different premiums for close to the same coverage. A few factors set the price, and we can go through most of them in one call. Understanding them helps you tell whether a quote is reasonable.

Quotes use current carrier rates and the details you give us in the consultation. You see the full premium, any subsidy and the deductible together, with nothing missing.

Age and tobacco use
Carriers can price by age, so older applicants usually pay more. Many plans also charge more for tobacco users, which is why we ask early.
Metal tier and deductible
The metal tier sets how you and the carrier share costs. Bronze has the lowest monthly bill and the most cost when you get care, gold and platinum reverse that, and silver falls between. Which tier fits depends on how often you expect to need a doctor.
Network type
HMOs tend to cost less but hold you to a set network and may need referrals. PPOs let you see out-of-network providers, for a higher premium.
Income and subsidy eligibility
For ACA Marketplace plans, your expected income for the year and the size of your tax family decide how large a premium tax credit you can get. For many clients, no other factor moves the monthly price as much.
Who is on the plan
Including a spouse or children changes the premium, as does buying dental and vision as a bundle or on their own.
Where you live
Prices are set by rating area, and Florida carriers sell different plans in different counties. A plan offered in Venice may look different farther inland.

How We Work With You

Choosing a plan is only half the work. The other half is knowing how to use it, and that is where we stay involved.

  1. 01

We check in once your plan starts

When your ID cards arrive, we call to confirm your doctors show as in network. We explain how your deductible, copays and out-of-pocket maximum work together, so the first bill from a visit makes sense. If something looks wrong, we help you sort it out with the carrier.

  2. 02

    Real side-by-side comparisons

We lay out each option in the same format: monthly premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and network type. Seeing the numbers in matching columns makes the tradeoffs easy to spot.

  3. 03

    Our help costs you nothing

The carrier you pick pays our commission, so having us look over your options comes at no cost to you. The consultation carries no fee either, which leaves room to ask every question you have without watching a clock.

  4. 04

    An honest answer on fit

If a lower premium comes with a network that leaves out your specialist, we say so before you enroll. If you do not need an add-on like accident coverage, we tell you that too.

  5. 05

    A review before each renewal

Premiums, networks and covered medications can change from one year to the next. Ahead of open enrollment, we look at how your plan served you and whether staying put still makes sense.

From First Call to Follow-Up

Here is how working with us usually goes. Most of it can happen by phone or video if coming to our office is inconvenient.

  1. 1

    A free consultation

First we talk about your doctors, the medications you take, your budget and who else needs a plan. It takes a bit of time up front and spares you guesswork afterward.

  2. 2

    Side-by-side options

We gather plans from several carriers and go through them in side-by-side columns: premium, deductible, network and what you would really pay.

  3. 3

    Enrollment

Once you pick a plan, we complete the application together and lock in the start date. You know when the first premium is due and when to expect your cards.

  4. 4

    The check-in

After coverage starts, we call to confirm your doctors are in network and your first claims went through properly. We show you how to use your benefits so the plan is worth what you pay.

  5. 5

    Your renewal review

Every year ahead of open enrollment, we review what changed and whether a different plan would suit you better.

An Independent Agency in Venice

Private Health Insurance Venice helps individuals and families in Venice, Florida find coverage that fits how they actually live and use care. We are not tied to one carrier, which means our job is to compare honestly, not to steer you toward a single company's lineup.

What sets our work apart is what happens beyond enrollment. Too many people sign up, file their paperwork away, and only discover a gap when a bill arrives. We would rather call you in the first weeks, answer the questions that come up, and stay the person you reach for when your plan does something unexpected.

Questions Clients Ask Us

Is there a charge for your help?

No. There is no fee for the consultation. Carriers pay us a commission when you enroll, so our comparison costs you nothing, and your premium is the same as enrolling yourself.

When can I sign up for a health plan?

Most people sign up during open enrollment in the fall. At other times, some life events open a special enrollment period, such as losing employer coverage, getting married, having a child or moving to a new area. If you aren't sure you qualify, we can tell you on the call.

Will I qualify for help paying my premium?

It depends on your expected income and family size for the year. In the consultation we estimate your premium tax credit with the same rules the Marketplace follows. Because the credit is settled on your tax return, we suggest reporting income changes as they happen.

Can I keep my current doctors?

Usually, though it depends on each plan's network. We look up the doctors and facilities you list in every carrier's directory before you enroll, then check again after your plan begins, since directories can be out of date.

Are dental and vision included in a health plan?

Marketplace plans include children's dental and vision as essential benefits, though the way they are offered differs. Adults usually buy dental and vision separately. We can add stand-alone dental insurance or vision insurance and explain how waiting periods and annual maximums apply.

What does accident insurance actually do?

Accident insurance pays you cash after a covered injury, which you can put toward your deductible, copays or daily expenses. It sits next to your health coverage rather than replacing it. We will give you a straight answer on whether it is worth it for you.

What happens after I enroll?

We keep in contact. When your cards come, we call to confirm your doctors and explain how your deductible and copays work. Ahead of each renewal, we go over your plan with you and weigh it against that year's new options.
